When Mr Belt and Wezol asked me to be their photographer at Tomorrowland festival, I instantly said YES!!! Two of the coolest and most fun guys to work with, at the biggest and most awesome festival in the world. What a great combination. I went to Schiphol Airport where they just landed from Lithuania. We traveled with the crew of 5 by car to Boom in Belgium. Also Joining where the videographer Chung and Frank the driver.
Mr Belt & Wezol performed at the organ of harmony stage where Lost Frequencies was hosting that day. At the beginning of their set there wasn’t a big crowd. But after a few minutes you could really tell that more and more people starting to join. About half way through there set they had managed create an amazing and energetic full crowd. During their set I needed to say focust on listening to the music in order to be ready to take photos when the drop hits, and when the special effects go off. Lucky I got a few good shots in early.
After there set, it was time to blow off some steam, and hangout backstage. As an Artist & DJ photographer its important to realize that sometimes the most valuable photos are taking backstage. So I always keep my camera with me and try to spot the moments when DJ’s and Artist are interacting with each other. It is my goal to capture the whole story of the day in photos, and not just only have epic stage shots.
Lucky we had the whole day planned, so we started exploring the festival grounds. As a festival photographer it felt a bit like being Alice in Wonderland. But the focus was to shoot content for Mr Belt & Wezol. After a few hours of photography we decided to eat some burgers. I walked to the Tomorrowland MainStage because I wanted to shoot some photos for my portfolio. And after that I joined the rest of the crew back at the organ of harmony stage where we enjoyed the rest of the festival for ourselves while listening to Armand van Helden. During his set, I got some of the money shots I was looking for.
